Teaming.AI

Teaming.ai is a European project focusing on the development of artificial intelligence (‘AI’), specifically for the use in a smart manufacturing setting. The project aims at creating a Human-AI teaming platform for maintaining and evolving AI systems in manufacturing. 

Teaming.ai considers that the interaction between a human and AI allows manufacturers to optimize and combine the greatest strengths of both partners into one coherent structure. The human aspect therein, being a central part of the purpose of the project, with the AI acting as its “team-mate”. 

Moreover, in developing the artificial intelligence, the project will explore the use of knowledge graphs to enhance the explainability of the actions taken or suggested by the AI. The knowledge graphs should lead to greater transparency for all parties involved, leading to a further strengthening of the adoption of the teaming platform in practice. Teaming.ai sees this teaming relationship as an important opportunity to improve adoption and acceptance by manufacturing operators of AI systems in their day-to-day work.

The previous elements should ultimately lead to reduced setup times, better-quality output, and lower maintenance costs for manufacturing companies.

The overall concept is currently being tested in a research setting, depicting as closely as possible real-life environments and situations wherein the teaming relationship could be used in practice. 

Our role

Timelex is the legal partner in this three-year project, supporting Teaming.ai in the analysis of legal and ethical issues related to the development and use of the teaming platform. This support concerns both the use of the teaming platform in a research setting, as well as the eventual application thereof in a commercial environment.
