With 43 project partners from 22 different countries CyberSec4Europe will develop a governance model for the future European Cybersecurity Competence Network and will trial this model in several technology and innovation activities relevant for progressing Europe’s cybersecurity capabilities.

Our role

In order to develop a sustainable European Cybersecurity Competence Network, four Horizon 2020 pilot projects – ECHO, CONCORDIA, SPARTA and CyberSecurity4Europe – are tasked with establishing and operating a pilot for the European Cybersecurity Competence Network.

CyberSec4Europe brings together European cybersecurity expertise in an interdisciplinary manner, pooling excellence and facilities from the public and private sectors, research, SMEs, industry, and academia. At the same time, CyberSec4EU will develop a governance model for such a cooperation that is in line with the Proposed Regulation establishing a European Cybersecurity Industrial, Technology and Research Competence Centre, a Network of National Coordination Centres and a Cybersecurity Competence Community. As a legal partner in the Consortium, Timelex will play a key role in the development of the governance model by providing a legal analysis of the Proposed Regulation and by mobilising their network of national legal correspondents to deliver insights on the expectations and viewpoints of the Member States on the Proposed Regulation. The project will put the pool of cybersecurity expertise in practise by implementing key demonstration cases in different domains addressing prominent research areas in the public and private sectors.

As a key factor in the governance and structure of the Network will be the designation of the entities under the Regulation, Timelex has provided an overview of Cybersecurity Public authorities and entities, Public-Private Partnerships and Private initiatives in the European Member States, which can be consulted below.
