Yung Shin Van Der Sype specialises at time.lex in the domain of (workplace) privacy and data protection, company security and ICT-contracts.
She obtained the Data Protection Institute’s certificate as Data Protection Officer. She also teaches the course Electronic Contracts Law in the L.L.M. Intellectual Property and ICT Law (KU Leuven, Campus Brussels).
Yung Shin was the main contact person for the legal issues in several research projects funded by the European Commission (such as the company-security projects MUSES and DOGANA). In other Horizon 2020 projects, she is appointed as external legal and ethical advisor.
She obtained her Master of Laws degree at the KU Leuven in June 2012. From September 2012 until October 2017 Yung Shin was employed by the same university as a legal researcher.
In April 2017 she defended her Ph.D. thesis “Towards an integrated privacy protection in the workplace”.
As a legal researcher Yung Shin contributed to several books and articles relating to privacy, data protection and company security (cfr. Lirias publication list).
