Easy come, easy go: legal framework for electronic registered mail abolished again

In January, we reported on the new legislation adopted to provide a clear legal value for electronic registered mail and hybrid registered mail in Belgium. As noted in that post, these rules were set to enter into force on 30 June 2011, and would establish legal equivalence between electronic registered mail and its paper counterpart, provided that certain requirements were met.

Unfortunately, this was not to be: a new law published today (NL - FR) abolishes the rules in that law relating to registered mail and hybrid mail. New regulation is supposedly underway, and will of course be published on this website as soon as it becomes available.
